NOTE: This is based on the anime, not the manga. Moreover, this can be read alone or as a sort of second part of another fic not translated into English. In it, Sakuya, after finding the poem Aine dropped, starts writing the music for it, and decides that from that moment on, she would be the one to write the lyrics for Lucifer (the group). However, for those who haven't seen the series, Sakaki sends her away because he thinks she's a fan while Sakuya and the group are singing the encore.
SONGWRITER
As soon as he returned from his brief incursion outside, the other components of Lucifer saw that Sakuya was in a bad mood and it was better not to ask him anything about the new song or about the girl who had written the lyrics. At least not until he had calmed down.
He changed clothes quickly and did not even say goodbye when he left, slamming the door. He walked to the motorbike he had left parked at the authorized personnel door, and set out at high speed, heading to the Jupiter Records offices. If there was any way to find that student in the crowd that lived in Tokyo, it was through them and its information network, although it was thanks to one of their own that he had lost her when she was so close.
Minutes later, once in the production company building, he shut himself up in a meeting room with some sheets of paper and a pen, and tried to remember everything he could about her. She had bright eyes of an unusual shade of brown, much like amber, and long, brown, straight hair. He enjoyed himself, for a moment, with the image of her face full of childlike curiosity and wonder, as she followed him, looking around the backstage, and then shook his head, trying to concentrate on her uniform, the essential clue to find her. He was sure that her shirt was white and the skirt, green, but could not remember if the jacket was brown or maroon, much less the colour of her socks. And he would swear that she was wearing a tie instead of a bow, but he did not remember it clearly. When they first had met that afternoon, he had hardly noticed her, concerned as he was with the unfinished song he had to submit hours later and with almost running her over with his motorbike, and later, he barely had time to stop at the details, with the contrast of the stage lights and the darkness of the auditorium, and they had not been together more than a few moments in the personnel area.
After five minutes trying to remember, he gave up and went to the office with the data he had.
"I need you to find a school with the uniform information," Kai Takako, who had just lifted the telephone handset to make a call, looked taken aback for a moment, but Sakuya ignored her. "I'm not sure about some things, but this is what I have" he left the paper on her desk. "It's important."
The woman hung up the receiver, took the sheet and read it while the singer headed to the exit. The data was very vague, and it would be difficult, given the number of high schools that were in the city.
"Did Sakaki ask for this?"
He frowned and turned to her.
"It's because of him that we have to do this."
She was tempted to ask what it meant, but when she saw his expression, clearly annoyed, she decided to leave the issue aside. She would get her answer later.
"I warn you it will take time."
"It doesn't matter."
She watched him for a few seconds as he exited and then sighed, turning to look at the concise comments scribbled on that paper. It would better be worthwhile. Calling two of the assistants, she ordered them to do the search as she was continued with the phone calls that were pending. She would supervise them from time to time.
Dawn had already broken and there were no news. Sakuya had spent the night in the meeting room, where he had slept for a few hours, and decided to go to the office. He knew most of the staff had been there, outlining future plans for the different groups they produced, some of which were late or did not go as well as they had expected. However, he did not care about all those matters , only about one, and he hoped that there were some results.
"We have ten possible schools with information you gave us," said Kai when she saw him appear.
There were too many, and he frowned angrily. He took the folder she held and flipped through the printed sketches of uniforms. There were all sorts of shades of green, brown and garnet in those drawings, and he discarded one after another which did not match the image he had in mind.
"If you could give us more information it would be very useful," told him one of the assistants, watching him with evident weariness reflected in his eyes. "Didn't you notice if that student was wearing a crest embroidered on her jacket? Or if the skirt had some sort of pattern, whether it was the wraparound kind...?"
He shook his head.
"It was the typical pleated one and... I think it was black check-"
"What are you doing here?"
It was expected that Sakaki was already there at that hour, and the singer, in view of the interruption, turned his head slightly, one eyebrow arched, looking at him with disaffection over his shoulder.
"Looking for my songwriter" he turned to the other again. "These three seem the most likely to me. We'll start with the one in Nakano and then the Suginami one. Katsushika's too far."
He took a chair and sat next to the assistant, who had begun to search the first school network, because the manager had called the other for help and, finally, after hours in front of the computer, Sakuya asked the man not to return to the listing page of the second school students, where they had been opening document after document of all the girls who were studying there, while a satisfied smile drew across his lips. Her big eyes were watching him from the photograph that appeared next to her card, and leaned back in his chair as Takako, who had approached them upon hearing him, ordered to print the information.
"Don't say anything to Sakaki."
"Are you going to explain all this to me?" What was that about "your songwriter”?
The young man smiled enigmatically and, taking one of the copies they had made, rose from his seat, heading for the door.
"All in good time."
He leaned wearily against the wall of the elevator as he went down to the parking lot and looked back at the picture. He would pick her up at the high school gate and explain clearly to her why he had used her poem for the new song, and what he wanted from her. He put the paper in the pocket of his jacket and put on his helmet as he approached his motorbike, determined to get her, not matter the times he had to insist.
Lucifer would reach the top, with his music and his voice, and Yukimura Aine's talent for writing lyrics.
THE END
***Finally, the last one. One challenge finished of the three I got myself into this Christmas.**
