been awhile

so it was a fun summer, made enough dough to pay off my car loan, get caught up on a bunch of bills, and have some dental work done (specifically, removing 2 molars). Having teeth out kinda sucks but its really not that bad. For whatever reason it took like 8 shots of novacaine to make stuff numb and even then I could still feel it. But meh whatever it's done.

The CD is finished insofar as the recording and mixing, it has been at the mastering studio for over a week and is late to be finished. Which sucks because it's getting to be crunch time a bit, I need to get it printed before the CD release.

It came out good. MMmmm. It came out...complex. Mmm. Much moreso than I anticipated going in. In all, it took a little over a year to record, there are 11 people playing/speaking/singing on it, playing piano, keyboards, ebow, bass, guitar, bowed guitar, bowed bass, lap steel, loops of various sorts, harmonium, electric drums, real drums, bells, trumpet, flute, rhodes piano, accordion, and organ. There are 2 freaky producer type effected sections with sound effects created who knows how (we were playing with the computer and came up with some cool shit, probably couldn't reproduce it in a million years), a train sample, and a dialogue sample from a coffee shop. And if you listen really closely during a couple of songs you'll hear a creaking futon and the farting and snoring of a rottweiler, not to mention various and sundry other intentional and not-so-intentional noises that are hard to pick out but that I like to think add to the overall.

In all, there are 11 songs on the CD and it runs about 43 minutes. Good length, I can't stand the 16 song 65 minute epics some people come out with.

It will be called "Yeah OK". The artwork is pretty much done, assuming I can figure out how to email pictures from my phone to my computer.
