LOST DOG

Apr 03, 2005 21:37

I'm dog-sitting for the mailman and she ran away, less than 24-hours after I'd picked her up. She was okay when I was around, but apparently freaks out when I'm gone. My dad said it took him half an hour to get her inside while I was at the Seymour dinner last night.

I left for work this morning and she managed to get past the front glass door and open the front gate, then took off to who-knows-where. My dad and I each drove around for hours, literally, and I have no idea where she is. My manager told me to be back at work at noon, but I couldn't stop bawling, even when I walked in the store, so she sent me away again (after a lecture and the promise of a lecture before work tomorrow). Apparently only 12-year old girls cry when they lose a little girl's dog, not 21 year-old women.

I've already talked to some of their neighbors, I'll be making posters tonight and checking in at the Humane Society tomorrow before school, and most of my free time (i.e. dark-dawn) will be spent wandering the streets.

So basically, if you see a large female golden retriever with a purple-ish collar running around, please call me. Her name is Ginger and she got loose from my house (17th & Narrows) and lives near Candle Park (21st & Bennett).

Things to remember: Sleep is as close to death as you can get without giving up completely.
