I'm trying to think of a situation in which something like this might actually happen. All I can think of is when you're in a relationship that is displaying red warning flags of abuse, and your significant other is trying to isolate you from friends and family so you have no way out of the relationship. Well, of course I believe in true love. What else would I believe in, fake love? I think a lot of people have the idea that love can't really be true love unless the participants are utterly absorbed with each other to the point where their love eclipses their feelings for anything else.
