New Prydain Art
So a couple months ago random internet guy contacts me from my elfwood page to tell me how he's trying to make a boxed set of the Prydain Chronicles for his girlfriend for Christmas, as the one the publisher was going to release last month was cancelled (jerks!) and asking if he could use some of my images on my gallery.
This got my wheels turning, and I told him rather than using random images I would design him a box. This was rather more work than I really should have taken on at the time, but the dude got major brownie points just for wanting to do this and his girlfriend had better appreciate him. Anyway, I'm almost finished with the image for the side - it's going to wind up being on both sides just because I'm pretty much out of time, unfortunately - I wanted to do something different on each box side, sort of bookending the beginning and the end of the series, but I've got a deadline on the calendar and I don't think it's going to happen. I'm still going to do the other side, simply because now I want a boxed set, but I'll have to go well past Christmas to get there so dude's girlfriend will have to wait for the director's cut. Anyway.
This is just the "first proof" so to speak, so there are details that are off (Fflewddur's missing right hand, for example ;P). And I have not yet added text - there'll be titles and author and all that. But I think it's going to look pretty good. It's too bad it is so small - to fit the paperback books the guy bought this is only going to be slightly larger than 5x7. I'm so tempted to go ahead and drop the money for the hardbound versions and blow this up to fit them.
