Finally getting around to writing about last Wednesday's Lost (season 5 episode 3)! This seems to be a tradition this season- I watch on Wednesday and blog on Saturday. But I took notes this time, so I'll be more prepared!

( Spoilers for the latest episode. Also, speculation for future plot points- not spoilers, but some long-term thoughts. )

I'm betting the girl with the gun, "Ellie", is Mrs. Elouise Hawking, aka the person many think will turn out to be Daniel's mum. The time-line is right. If she's a teenaged girl in 1954, then she could easily be in her seventies in 2005. Plus, Daniel said she seemed familiar, and as Mrs. Hawking is working with Ben, she probably has some prior connection to the island and the Others.

Hmm...that works as well. "Ellie" could be derived from either Danielle or Eloise, which makes it really difficult to use in the guessing process. :) The physical resemblance seems more similar to Rousseau to me, although the aging makes more sense if it's Mrs. Hawking. *wanders off to ponder theories*
