Have not posted post-Wondercon which is a shame, as Wondercon this year was fantastic. I posted to twitter about it a tiny bit, but in short: best Wondercon yet, and Wondercon remains my favorite of the conventions in the area for being so positive and uplifting. Maybe I can pull some things off my camera to prove why.
Otherwise, let's see.
I've spent a lot of April treading water on comics projects I should be working nonstop at, which is disappointing but one of those things I've just got to ride out until it gets better. I blame the flu, honestly, because it hit with a vengeance two days after Wondercon and did not leave for quite some time. And from that point on I've been pretty exhausted from overwork at my multiple day jobs, which has trickled into my arms and caused pain flare ups, you know the drill.
But, I am still being a rockstar at a few things, and one of those things is dropping in on Dr. Sketchy's once a month for lifedrawing. Now that they have a Saturday night session it's actually possible for me to do this on the regular and it's been really positive so far. Not only are the SF regulars super friendly and supportive, but my art needed it. So, yes, hoping to keep this up! (I post the drawings I do each session to my
flickr account, if you like this sort of thing. They aren't full on naked but they aren't exactly worksafe, either.)
Other rockstar things: I am keeping up with my 365 critters for 2011. I had one night where I forgot but otherwise I've kept at it. These are less exciting but I'm posting majority of them to
flickr as well. I am also keeping up with
Missing Monday, which was the "upcoming working on it really I am" webcomic mentioned a few months back.
Now that we are caught up, I can end this post on a happy note, namely: today has been awesome. Firstly, I slept in. Secondly, I made a grand bus journey to the Epic April Library Fund-Raising Book Sale hoping against hope to find Dresden Files #7, which I did. Thirdly, I then came home and made cilantro pistachio pesto and it was one of the better things I have made so far this year.
So, today is a winner. The end.
