Poem 2

Because of you

Because of you,
we vow to lead lives fulfilling.
Because of you,
we have amassed strength to keep going.

Because of you,
your love and caring, we remember to keep on daring.
Because of you, we live in a country where we are free to receive,
to endure through heartache, to achieve what our minds set for us to achieve.

Because of you, Dad-we are who we are,
We keep looking and going far.
We do what we do to continue your vision, to be the best that we can be.
Because of you, I remain strong and try to be me.

Because of you, we have all learned to be strong,
Memories keep us going and last us long.
Memories of you overflow and we all remember
that in life you were compassionate, generous, determined.

Because of you, where we lack your physical presence,
I am still here continuing on in your absence.
Because of you, we continue on productively,
We lead our lives always actively.

Because of you, love conquers all,
never will we fall,
when we remember the sacrifices you have made to get us this far;
we will find the many ways to make us soar.

You are still here, you have not left,
In our hearts, you are forever kept.
Never will we forget, your permanent influence,
forever imprinted in our hearts, joyful confluence.
