Holy moley! It's been yet anpther week since I've updated! So, what have I been up to?
Well, I don't remember specifics too well. Last Sunday I finally met up with good ol' Andy Admon for some Steak and Shake. We totally carried on a very dorky science convo, but it was great seeing him, and good to talk to someone who shares my love of medicene and the future.
Let's see, Monday was work from 1-9. After that, Was picked me up and we met up with Ahmad and other Wasfeh. We went to the Ram's Horn on Telegraph, and then headed back to Was' house. I fell asleep, and then we woke up in the morning at like 8. We got ready, woke everyone up and then went to an Arabic bakery for breakfast. After that, we were off to Cedar Point. It was an awesome day of fun. Good times with good people. We rode everything, I got stuffed animals, and we had Applebee's on the way. What a great day!
We got back to Dearborn at about 1 in the morning, so I just stayed out there again. Was drove me home Wednesday morning, and he left my house around noon. I showered and then headed to Amy's to get some papers signed. Then I drove out to Wayne State and met up with Was and Ahmad again to look at apartments for them. It looks like they're going to be renting a nice apartment really close to campus, so it looks like I've found my new study niche. After that, we got some Subway and then I chilled at WSU. I eventually drove out to Dearborn and met up Charlie! He's looking good...but I'm more tan! Anywho, we played the catch-up game and ate at La Shish. We're going to try to get together twice a year to keep in touch.
I don't remember what I did Thursday during the day, but I remember finding out that my car is broken! It made me sad because I couldn't go visit Laura and Manda at MSU. Well, Was' uncle looked at my car and I found out that it's going to be about 500-700 dollars to repair, which really sucks. The people at the shop told me not to drive it if I can avoid it, so I've just been taking it to work and back. Anyways, after I left the shop Thursday night, Was, Ahmad, other Wasfeh and I drove around for a long time looking for somewhere to eat. We finally decided on Pizza Popollis (sp!) of Dearborn, which ended up tasting pretty darn bad. Then we headed back to Wasfeh's house, and his uncle and aunt were there. A bunch of us were sitting outside on the porch, and a family situation caused a bit of a culture shock for me. It's weird how different our cultures really are. Was and I ended up spending the rest of our night watching Spaceballs, which turns out to be a pretty cool movie.
Friday was simply a work day. I worked from 9-9. After that, I studied for my PCAT in my parent's room because my bro had a friend spent the night and they were playing PS2 in my room.
Yesterday I worked from 9-5. Was picked me up from work, and we went to Dearborn for his uncle's bbq. It was amazing food. I love Arabic eats, especially the authentic stuffs. Yum, yum. We had lots of onion and garlic too, so our breath was horrible but our stomachs were happy. After dinner and talking, Was and I went back to his house to watch Les Miserables...the one with Uma Thurman. It wasn't as good as the one with John Malkovic (sp!), but it was still worth watching. I also decided that I REALLY need to learn Arabic, because I can't talk to Was' aunt or his brother's wife. She is younger than me, but she is so pretty and is a TOTAL sweeheart. She speaks a tiny bit of English, but she just moved here from Syria three weeks ago, so I'm sure it's all very overwhelming for her. I know her and I would make great friends, so I guess I should hop onto the Arabic language bandwagon soon.
So, today was a boring but extremely satisfying day. I went to work from 9-7. After work, my mom and I cooked, which is something we haven't done together in weeks. It felt so...right. After dinner, I helped clean the kitchen and then I went for a jog around my sub since it was getting dark. It gets dark now at 830, and that sinply impossible for my jogging schedule. Hmph! After jogging, I worked on my abs, and then I wandered over here to the computer. I'll probably eat some desert soon, and then study for my PCAT some more. Then I'll exercise again and then go to bed.
I have to work tomorrow from 9-10...yeah, 11 hours, but it'll be all fun after that. I guess Was and I are going on another trip for Tuesday and Wednesday. I have to call him soon to find out exactly where we're going, but I think this is going to be a slow paced relaxing trip. Hopefully it'll involve the outdoors and a beach and sun and good food, but as long as Was is there, I don't really care.
Well, I think I'm going to go eat some chocolate, and then work it all off. Goodnight all!
