This is a really insightful post. I think it's good to have these intensely introspective periods where you truly consider what it is you need, who you want to be as a person, who you believe you already are as a person, and where you would like to go next.

I believe that humans as a species are always obsessed with "who am I?" and then finding ways to display that identity in hopes of connecting with others who are "like them" (be it similar interests, gender presentation, political beliefs, etc.). I also think it's very mature of you to realize that getting into an intense emotional connection right now might not be the best idea given your current drive to figure yourself out first. That's a decision that doesn't come lightly and that more people ought to consider.
