demondog's vet wants to do another round of surgery. This time they will actually do exploratory surgery and a bacterial culture for a mere $925 fee. It would have been nice to have been told before the first surgery that none of this would be taking place. It most certainly would have changed my decision to go ahead with the biopsy.
I'd like to get a second (third, fourth, etc...) opinion - so if anyone wants to suggest a vet to me PLEASE do so.
