So, this week, me_maneuver and I drove 1,000 miles to see Panic! at the Disco in Sacramento. And it was TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Because they have GREAT TASTE IN SONGS and don't seem to worry too much if the audience is going to know them, as long as they perform them well. And because they are AWESOME.

Bden! he was SO SICK. Like, TREMBLING and being led around because he could barely stand upright SICK. I think we actually saw him PASS OUT for a moment between the main set and the encore - he got offstage and sort of COLLAPSED into Zack for a minute, and then crawled back onto the stage to sing. And somehow, the voice is still there, and he was still playing around with people at the Meet and Greet.

(I think THIS is the reason he's so damned endearing - that odd mix of FRAGILE and TOUGH and EAGER TO PLEASE....)

SO MUCH FUN. We need to roadtrip up the other way sometime!

OMG YOU! HOW DO I LOVE YOU SO DAMN MUCH? We spent 20 hours in a car together and right now I just want to be NEAR YOU. *smish*

This was a wonderful trip and a FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC concert! I'm so glad we could share it together.

I even took Spencer pictures BECAUSE I LOVE YOU.

You took pictures of Spencer because he is BEAUTIFUL and you need to document that for all time. It's like a fucking work of art up there.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND WE GOT TO SPEND ALL THE TIME IN THE CAR AND THEN YOU STOOD WITH ME ON THE BAR-BARRICADE AND IT WAS AWESOME.

Thank you! I think it's mostly finding the right place to stand and knowing the right camera settings, and then SPENCER does all the work of being unrealistically beautiful. But, if I ever DO upgrade my camera equipment, there's a few pics from this set that are totally in the "give me a photo pass" portfolio. OTOH, the Pacific NW is overrun with freelance music photographers, so there's not really a need ( ... )

If you DO want to print any of them up, just let me know which ones and I'll get you the original image files. Even the biggest size over at flickr strips out a lot of the data, and the originals would print up sharper. Stuff from M's camera should be good to at least 8x10 and the ones from mine might go poster sized before it gets muddy ( ... )
