Those Tiny Trifles: 2x06, No Exit

Jo was called in to keep Dean company while Sam wanted some alone time.
Not a picspam.

2x06: No Exit
The Roadhouse has a basement.
Jo went to school where she claims she was "the freak with the knife collection".
According to Dean, the boys "rarely drink before 10".
The family of four/five (pregnant mother, father, two kids) all wear yellow t-shirts with the text "Nebraska is for Lovers".
They head towards "the Arby's down the road".
The last girl to disappear in Philadelphia did so 3 weeks ago.
According to Jo, 6 young, blonde women have vanished "over the past 80 years" in that same building, and it's happened only every decade or two. (And when the boys start sniffing around, 2 more girls are taken within about a day of each other...)
The first news clipping in Jo's folder (Increase in Crime Puzzles Police) depicts H.H. Holmes' hanging.
One of the missing women was Jamie Harrison. Another was Jane Edwards.
Jo's full name seems to be Joanna Beth.
This is the first verifiable time the boys are shown waving around two EMF-meters.
Sam says he's seen ectoplasm very rarely before ("like, only twice").
Jo says that the building was built in 1924. (Her earlier comment about 80 years placed the first disappearing in 1926.)
There have been no recorded violent deaths in the place in all the 82 years.
According to Jo, she checked (police reports, county death records) obituaries, mortuary reports and 7 other sources.
Dean and Jo take the top 2 floors.
Unless one counts the tools Dean was handling in Everybody Loves A Clown (2x02), this is the first time a screwdriver sneaks into the boys' equipment list. One with a blue handle, none the less.
The invitation to Emma's Lingerie Party says there's a sale on Thursday Night, Sept. 28th 7:30 PM, on 112-982 Main St. North Philadelphia, PA.
The number to call if one wishes to host one's own lingerie party is given as 555-0100.
The knife Dean offers Jo is a Bowie, but I'm not 100% sure it's the same he kept under his pillow in Phantom Traveller (1x04).
This is the first episode where Jo's father, Ellen's husband is named: William Anthony Harvelle.
Dean tells Jo he was 6 or 7 when John took him shooting the first time. He says he hit every bottle on the fence perfectly. (= happened in 1985/ 1986)
Jo claims she was still wearing pigtails when her father died in 1995.
Theresa Ellis, the woman with the Lingerie Party Invitation, lived in the apartment 2-F. Her boyfriend alerted the authorities.
There's a shop with the name Daniel's on it, and under it a marquee with Goods Haberdashery Etc. in the photo of the empty lot.
Jo tells us that the Moyamensing Prison was built in 1835 and destroyed in 1963. She's sort of accurate.
Sam has a webmail-address.
Out of the emails visible, 17's sender is shown, and out ot those, 6 are from Ash. Other senders are Web mail info-server (4), hellhounds@(???) (1), miscellanous (4) and one from dwinchester@mailer.(?).
Ash's subjects, far as we can see are:

The list of the executed has 157 names.
Including Pieter de Hooch, Solomon Fine, Adrian Bond, Ulysses S. Clayton, Jack Potter, Mortimer Fox, Sean Malone...
One funny thing about the list is that it as Sam scrolls down, it begins anew with slight modifications. :)
The newspaper with Holmes Execution is number 18,124, and it's for Friday, May 8, 1896, reporting the execution the day before, Thursday, May 7th.
Holmes confessed to 27 murders, "some put the death toll over a hundred."
While Jo and Dean work their way down, Sam checks the first floor. When Jo leaves Dean, Sam's supposedly going through the southeast wall.
Jo finds the 'airduct' by the north wall.
Ellen says she's "taking the first flight out", and that she'll be in Philadelphia in "a few hours".
The cement truck's plates: DHK 39U5.

Thoughts and Shtuff
  • I'm not sure how relevant it is, but Dean jokes about meeting a Holmes in the beginning... Granted, he meant Katie, but ended up with H. H. :)
  • The scene where they have all the funny exposition on Holmes... Does anyone else get the feeling that the boys are having fun with Jo? I mean, Sam's practically gleeful, and Dean just... reminds me of my elder brother, throwing out a dare. Oh, boys. I do adore you. *smishes them*
You weren't that bad, either, Jo. *pats her head* Greener than a fresh sprout, but not really as bad as some might have thought.
  • So... Did the boys locate a metal detector for this one job, or is there one in the trunk of the Impala? :)

I have to admit that this episode didn't 'do' that much for me; it left me with the impression that this is something they needed to do in order to get from Point A to Point B.
That doesn't really bother me, though. I like the Harvelles, and their past intrigues me as much as Bobby's. But... Jo seems to try too hard. And that fits her character, imo, but there's something about that that irks me for some reason.
