So I've had this nagging urge to update my journal. It was like someone (ie Tony) kept telling me, "Noelle, you really need to update your journal. This is crap."
I started my summer out with a bang.
The boys graduated and broke my heart. I couldn't stand saying goodbye to them one by one- heck, I couldn't stand saying goodbye to them individually. Talk about quitting them cold turkey. You live with them for three years and then all of a sudden, you're supposed to cut them loose and go on about your daily lives. How can people do this without a care in the world? I miss them like crazy already and we haven't even attempted a semester without them yet. On the flipside, I know we girls will be alright. We'll still see them, and I have a feeling we're going to get much closer again seeing as it's just Meg, C, M and I and M, Meg and I are all RAing on the same staff. I'm thankful for this- more than I can probably express.
The first week in June I went to visit Tony. The drive wasn't as bad (length-wise) as I was expecting- I actually enjoyed the ride very much and had an incredible time with him and his family. I got there Thursday early evening and we rented a movie and just basically hung out, friday was a work picnic and then we went into Harrisburg and went dancing! Which, was awesome, come one, you all know me...I LOVE that! Then Saturday we went minigolfing- Tony's still bitter that there was the POSSIBILITY of my winning had we finished the game....of course my victory wasn't probably, it was still possible...but we left to meet up with M and Justin and Jordan and his wife, Rachel, which was awesome- it was really great hanging out together again....Sunday was church, we went for a hike up to the tower, climbed the tower, went home, took a nap and then I met the best friend...Billy's really nice and hung out for the rest of the night. When it came time to leave Monday night, I did not want to go...but I had to....I was leaving for Florida the next day.
Like my segway?
Florida was amazing, as always. I love that state. I really do. Most Floridians are snowbirds. They stay for the winter months, and then retreat to their northern abodes for milder summers. I'd be the opposite. So would that make me a snow bunny? I am anyway, but that's besides the point. I LOVE Florida and the fact that I can basically live in a bathing suit. I'd need a boat (contrary to popular expectation, I happen to handle a boat very well, thank you very much- it's in my blood)I haven't thought of a name for my potential boat yet...but I'm thinking of a good one....mine can't be the CANOLEE Joe. That's my dad's and that's a family boat name....my boat would probably be a little single prop speed boat...something like a Baja, maybe...small enough not to be a major gas-guzzler, but large enough so that my Great Dane can ride with me....and of course, I'd only be 5 minutes at most from a beach...although, I would like to be ON the water....I'd like a little setup like my uncle: live on the canal with ocean-access....that'd be pretty darn sweet....right....and winters would be up north...because as I said before, I am a snow bunny.
How did I get on this? Oh yeah, because I enjoy florida very much. But getting back on subject, I had an awesome time and missed my family very much...I was going to spend an extra week down there, but I needed to be home. I promised someone I'd work for her, and it was Father's Day. I wanted to spend it with my Daddy....So I hopped my scheduled flight and flew back to NY.
So I've been freaking out about my future lately. Internally, of course. I don't know. I mean, I KNOW I want to teach (not for long- just until I can move up into administration) but I'm afraid that I'm not going to do it well, and I'm afraid that I'm not going to know enough...I'm afraid that I'm going to get sick of my subject before I even graduate, because to be quite honest, I am so mentally exhausted and I can't wait to just be finished with school...
While I don't want to go off into the "real world" just yet, I want to move onto the next chapter of my life. I just want to move onto what's next....I know I want to stay in PA (although, Fla. teases me quite a bit). NY isn't quite what it used to be and it's getting too expensive....I definitely still want my big old farm house with a bunch of property and a small small barn, just in case I want to get another horse...But no use stressing over it because if it's what God wants for me, it'll happen in time...
...as far as everything else, I feel like things are finally falling into place for everyone and myself...I still freak out every now and then, but Mom says it's just my nature. Carissa thinks only of the here and now and not enough of the later and I think too much of the later and miss out on the here and now. Maybe everyone's right....maybe I do need to slow down.
....maybe one day I will.
