I got a little tired of staring at my own face every time I logged in :) So we get to enjoy penguins for a little while. I stole this from "despair.com"...they have this poster with one of my favorite quotes

I was surprised...I was able to eat without bingeing, and without guilt. It's not to say that this is a perfect solution. It's still hard for me to eat high-calorie foods (if I REALLY wanted a piece of cheesecake, this would be...err...troubling, but I think I'll work up to that slowly). However, the dual processes of thinking, REALLY thinking about what I want (food? emotional outlet?), and knowing that the food isn't forbidden...has helped a lot. I'm still a little nervous on the calories--I can't turn off the counter in my head that knows how many calories is in every darn thing...but I have been fairly successful in pushing aside it's voice.
Exercise helps as well. I don't hit the gym every often, though I might start lifting weights (perhaps even later on tonight). However, I do work out--however, I do go on 1 or 2 hour-long walks every day. It's a good stress relief for me, and not quite as "exercise-like" as say, running on a treadmill. The exercise also helps to keep the panic (of eating freely) at bay.
Lucky--I love the northwest! The weather here is like a tempermental child--it could be incredibly hot and humid (in which case I just hide indoors behind a/c), or really cold and rainy :( We get a few nice days in between...
My campus is gorgeous, though...I enjoy taking long walks around the lake :)
