Ok, so listening to 'Avenue Q' becomes an entirely different experience when suddenly, the whole thing might well be about you. A B.A. in English? Can't pay the bills yet, cos I have no skills yet? Criminy. And don't get me started on 'I Wish I Could Go back to College'- there's a certain line that gets me misty eyed already. Anyhoo, I thought about replacing the famous 'My Thesis ATE MY LIFE' with a new icon borrowing from AQ, but I was having trouble on the inspiration front. I present:

As a side note, I've been rewatching QAF S3, and I'm more in love with Brian Kinney than I ever thought possible. It's not the same watching without Fo and Wad, however- doesn't seem right. At least this time, I can watch without feeling guilty that there are 12 year olds right outside my door....
Oh, and I've been working on my flickr account, if anyone wants to check it out- lots of pics from Mattress, Pinwheel Day, Outskirts... Oo, and I got an Audioscrobbler account, too. I've been busy. ;)

One day, I will understand what the HELL happens in 'Velvet Goldmine.' The first time I watched it, I came away thinking that it was a beautiful trainwreck- imcomprehensible, overwrought, but undeniably attractive. I caught it on IFC tonight and finally got to see the last 20 min (the copy I borrowed from Bryn Mawr's library was screwed up at the end), which almost helped me understand wtf was going on... Maybe someday. ;) I enjoyed myself this time immensely.
ETA2: OMG. I've just been looking at choral societies in DC and WOW. As Tom Lloyd told me back in April, there are quite a few and the REPETOIRE. Would I rather sing Mozart's Requiem again, or Britten's War Requiem? Perhaps revisit the Chichester Psalms, or venture into the Durufle Requiem? The mind boggles. Plus, if I really do move in the next few weeks, I won't miss the auditions. Summers always get me down, ever since I was a kid, since it meant no singing. Time to rectify that. :D I should email Tom anyway and ask which groups he had in mind- perhaps there's an in somewhere that I can take full advantage of....
