slip and trip into a hip bath

My paid LJ account runs out at the end of the week, so here I am, giving my perpetually underused DW account a whirl. I won't be getting rid of LJ any time soon- too many of us are still there, and my friends list just makes SENSE to me- but I'm considering posting from DW from now on, and potentially upgrading to a paid account here. I just don't want to give LJ any more of my money- they've been providing crappier and crappier services with less and less respect for their customers, and that's just not ok.

LE SIGH.

What have I even been doing lately? I spent the weekend down in Louisiana, which was terribly nice. My dad's 60th birthday was Saturday, so on Friday he had a party with oodles of his friends that my sister and I both came down for. Saturday morning, we headed to the wilds of central Louisiana to our family camp for the rest of the weekend. There was pie from Lea's along the way (PIEEEEE) and Tucker and Jenny came up from New Orleans and brought with them a proper French king cake from their neighborhood boulangerie. We drank wine until 2 in the morning and slept late before flying back up to DC Sunday night.

We are currently in the midst of CONCERT DRAMA. Tucker is flying up here on Friday so that we can have a rehearsal for the Love concert on March 3 with our cellist and pianist... except we got an email from the pianist this morning that she can't make it down. So now we may or may not be scrambling to find someone new? I'm not sure if we're trying to find someone to help us rehearse this weekend or as a permanent replacement, but I DO know that Tucker is less than thrilled. I go back and forth in feeling like I'm ready to kick ass and feeling that I'll never be ready or able to sing them the way they should be sung. OH, ART. *throws up hands* WHY SO STRESSFUL.
