AHHHHH I AM SO ABSENT FROM LJ IT DRIVES ME CRAAAZY. Sorry, folks. :( I've fallen into one of those ruts of no-posts because I feel like, even though I'm busy all the time, it's not the sort of busy that's lending itself to fun blogging, which is generally how I like to roll here. I'm incredibly stressed about work and the Oncoming Lack Thereof. There is NOTHING FOR ME out there right now, except for the one job I applied for a month ago and haven't heard back about. UGHHHHHHHHHHH PLEASE DON'T LET ME HAVE TO MOVE INTO A CARDBOARD BOX IN JUNE. WHERE WILL MY BOOKS LIVE. THINK OF THE BOOKS.
(all joking aside, I'm genuinely becoming terrified and it's not fun to be in my head right now SEE THIS IS WHY I AM NOT ON LJ I AM NOT FUN RIGHT NOW)
But to focus on the good things, here are four things that have happened in the last week that have been kickass:
1 Sam came to visit last weekend and it was SO GOOD. We struck just the right balance of Doing Fun Stuff and Relaxing and Catching Up. We went to see Landless Theatre Company do Dr Horrible, which was SWEET, saw Paul (which was... less sweet), watched the entirety of Miranda (LOVE IT), went to the Spy Museum, and went to the blogger preview of Liberty Smith at Ford's.
2 I spent a brief 24 hours yesterday at Haverford, seeing my friend Brynne and taking part in the first Outskirts alumni concert. I was SO HAPPY to be there and meet the current girls in the group (who were both kind and talented out the wazoo), but the real joy was seeing my old friends again and getting to sing with them. The current girls performed their senior solos, but several older songs got resurrected for the show that we learned, including the infamous 'Runaway Run,' the very first song the 'skirts ever performed back in spring of 2003. It wasn't like I'd ever forgotten, per se, how much fun it was to stand up in front of an audience with your friends and sing and have fun, but it's been six years since I've done it, so you'll understand that it still managed to come as a pleasant surprise. :) If any videos surface on youtube, I will try and share here, if only for my own purposes (I lost my voice yesterday afternoon, so I'm only actually singing in about two songs, despite appearances to the contrary).
3 I did my taxes today and it only took an hour and they are DONE. I've been really apprehensive of them because I have so little money that I was terrified of owing MORE money somehow, but in the end, I only had to pay $12 to Maryland, which I can handle! Woohoo!
