Ho hum. I really need to be either a) driving in to school so I can work before Intro or b) working NOW and driving in to school at the last minute for Intro.

Instead, I am trawling LJ and randomly singing snatches of songs from Once Upon a Mattress, and no, I don't understand it either.

Thanks to the fabulous emma_elicit, I went down to Signature last ( Read more... )

I also briefly met Tom Zemon, who seems like a doll- luckily, I refrained from squeeing over his association with The Scarlet Pimpernel, because I am Very Mature and Not at All Fangirlish about a Long Dead Broadway Show I Never Actually Saw on Broadway (SP 3.0 Tour Represent!).

You are not even remotely alone in that -- I saw it once on Broadway in 1999, and again on tour in 2001, and am still holding out for someone to pick it up again because it is brilliant and wonderful and I love it so very, very much.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH. *ahem* I was on the email listserv back in the day and subscribed for years- long after even the tour was over. My sophomore year locker was a shrine to that show. :)

I always forget he did Pimpernel.

He broke into the dressing rooms earlier today. As it's Monday, there's no one here, but apparently he left something in there and needed it.

I'm also wondering what he did with that picture of my boobs he took last night.

I LIVED Pimpernel for ages- I could still recognize names of ensemble members from the first cast. ;)

Oh, that wacky Tom Zemon. Maybe your boobs are the background of his phone now?

One can only hope, really. I'll ask him next time I see him. If I'd had the presence of mind and wasn't on the phone when he was here, I'd've done it then. When I find out, I'll keep you informed.

YEEESSS. Pictures in essays are my FAVOURITE.

In second year, I had the pleasure of taking an Arthurian Legend class, and our "assignment" was, over the course of the semester, write five one-page DOUBLE-SPACED Arthurian picture interpretations.

It was so amazingly awesome.

DUDE. I WANT THAT CLASS.

Which reminds that I really should cave and watch 'Merlin'- I was a TOTAL Arthurian geek in my youth...

Hope you don't mind. ;)

I must be seriously out of the loop because I'm totally boggling that LaChuisa made Giant into a musical?! OMG! I'm glad to hear it's good, if long. For all that I loved the film, I always thought it ran too long, too.

He has indeed made a musical! I'm entirely unfamiliar with the source material, but the sheer scope of it makes me wonder how much was cut- there's SO MUCH THERE as it is. I appreciate EPIC and all, but there's a lot to be said for scaling it down, as well. Ah well! We'll see what happens with this version, anyway. :)
