Every so often, Norman, my beloved and curmudgeonly choir director, has called me up to ask me to be part of a smaller ensemble that's been asked to sing a special concert. I've never yet been able to say yes to one of these offers, however, as they've always been directly in conflict with something I can't possibly get out of.
BUT.
Today, I got to say yes!
There's going to be a special afternoon concert at the National Portrait Gallery in March, singing some selections from the Brahms Requiem as well as a commissioned piece by James Grant, all in honor of the Lincoln bicentennial (all manner of events have overtaken the District this year, besides those associated with Obamafest 2009).
For all those in the area, I will post again with more details as they become available, but the short version is WOOHOO! I'm so pleased to be able to say yes (and have Norman tell me lovely things) and I'm excited to be doing more with this group this season. YAY!
kickass-ity,
music
