welcome to the neighborhood

yesterday, peter and i rented a uhaul and moved most of our stuff to the new place. included in the move was my bike, which, for convenience sake during the move, i leaned up against the back wall of the house. i had every intention of bringing it inside before i went to bed, but it slipped my mind. today, the bike is gone. yes, one night, the first night at the new place, and i've already been robbed. lovely. i called the police and filed a report, which i'm sure will come to nothing, but you never know. a detective is supposed to call me soon. when the police were taking my information, they asked questions about the bike, the last time i saw it, etc...and they asked what is my race. i thought that was a strange thing to care about. so since i'm white, does that mean they'll take me more seriously? i would hope it makes no difference, but you have to wonder. why would they even ask?

i have spent a shitload of money on things for the new place. i remember when we moved into the last place, lori and amanda went to target and spent something like $100 on random stuff for the house, and when they told me, i was suprised how much they spent. i've spent more than that in the past few days. little stuff adds up quick.

anyway, if you haven't seen the new place yet, you should give me a call and stop by. you might want to wait until i have power (monday) and heat (tuesday).
