The other day I was walking outside with my flatmate, just killing time, seeing how there's a lot of strikes going on and the university is blocked, we got a week's headstart to our vacation. What I first though as "awesome no class" and "oh a strike, how exiting!" soon turned out to be a bundle of frustrating uncertainty over do we or do we not have class. Surprisingly tiring, that.
What inspired the latter part of the title was us witnessing a girl trying to come through a doorway, blocked by chairs and desks, and the horde of very pissed frenchmen with a gleam in their eyes rushing over to fortify the said barricade. Very creepy. Strikes cause fierce emotions around here.
As for ze regard, there's quite a few SDFs (sans domicile fixe, basically hobos) loitering around grocery shops and street corners, asking for a couple of coins. I'm actually really scared of them and just try to appear very invisible when passing them by...don't know why I feel so threatened, when most of them are actually very polite.
Anyway, there was this one man sitting in a stairway, the stare he had on when we passed.......creepy to the extreme. I think my friend said something like: "When you stop to reach for your wallet that man will grab a hold of your crotch..."
Yeah, that creepy.
Apart from that, French men (notice the space) have very lovely eyes, and occasionally one gets to walk across something very pleasant to watch indeed.
My better half (my flatmate) and I are going exploring up north for the weekend, meeting a friend of mine whom I miss dearly. Leaving tomorrow, looking forward to it!
