I got a new bike tire today and I submitted some photos and a poem to Labyrinth.
I think I am going to apply to be the AS photographer. For real this time. It is the kind of thing where I sound really qualified but I'm not really. I mean, I was student photographer of the year for all of Washington State in 2006, I worked with a grad student on a cross-cultural media photography project last year (we won't go into how it ended... or what a bad job I did), I've worked with professional photographer Charlie Schuck on professional photo shoots in the Seattle area, and I am in the process of finishing an awesome Israel photo essay.
I have some competition, though. Jordan Bright and Sally are both applying. Jordan (jokingly, but probably actually seriously) told me I was going to lose to him. "What did you do this summer? I took 24,000 photos." Yeahh... I'm not going to actually get the job, but I should apply. I should actually apply for things instead of assuming I won't get hired.
I went to physical therapy today. My physical therapist isn't happy with me and basically ready to give up on me.
I need to spend a lot of the rest of my day studying for my psych test tomorrow, but I am going to go to a nonviolence workshop with Cat Zavis. That should be pretty cool.
Gogol Bordello has overtaken Mirah.
I emailed Charlie Schuck to ask if he'd be a reference for my application and I he just emailed me back. Here is what he said:
"Shalom! Long time! Good to hear from you. Of course I will be a good refrence. Did you get married? I thought I heard something about that. Sounds like you are living in Bellingham. I love chuckanut drive. Do you keep in touch with any of the cabin folk?"
1. MARRIED??
2. Cabin folk?
