S-so, um... what's traditional for celebrating your birthday in the world you come from? I can put together a birthday cake if you want. Unless Master is already taking care of that...

If you would like to, then by all means bake one. But, to be honest, I haven't had a normal birthday celebration in thirteen years.

Huh? Really? Why not?

Also, um... is there any particular type of cake you would prefer?

I was born in the midst of a war that raged for a century. That war left me an orphan by the time I was ten.

Not particularly. Make whatever you like.

O-oh, I'm sorry... ... how could a war go on for that long...? Ah... y-you don't need to answer that.

Um, were you planning on a party or should I just make a small cake...?

No, it's fine. You see, in 2079, a group of...beings named Gears decided to annihilate humanity. As a result, humans and Gears fought each other in a war known as the Crusades, and it ended almost a century later.

No party is planned. You can make it to serve my family and yourself.

But humanity survived, and that is what's important now. So long as we can rebuild the world while never forgetting the price we paid, humanity will recover.
