Another birthday... Another day to reflect upon what the past year has given me.
Well, it's easy to see that I've been given over to a hell that makes my world seem friendly. I should be cursing my luck, and I would be if life had taken me down a different path.
But it did not. And if I want to be honest with myself...as much as I hate this place, I'm thankful that it took me instead of someone else it could have taken. I can endure this, but not everyone else can. Furthermore...if I'm here, I can protect the other people unfortunate enough to find themselves here.
...Though I cannot do everything. Aerith...seems to have become a drone. One less friend here...
...But that is all the more reason to continue my efforts in working against this place. I need to keep gathering information, and then strike when the time is right. Mayfield has already proven that it is not perfect. If it is fallible, it can be brought down. And I am nearly back up to full strength. The only magic this place is still preventing me from performing is Rising Force.
If only I had managed to do that last time. If only one of the people brought here had not sided with the milkman, I might have been able to deliver that strike to Mayfield's exposed heel...
