On storms.

So my sister and brother-in-law, their kids, and my mom have been planning a beach vacation for the better part of a year now. The schedule was to leave today, go to Hershey Park, and then drive on down to their rented house for the rest of the week.

Where, you may ask, is this rented house?

Yup. Outer Banks, NC.

*sigh*

Suffice it to say, they left for Hershey Park, but it's still up in the air as to whether or not the remainder of the dream vacation will happen as planned. My sister has been so bummed and stressed all week, and I just feel terrible for her, and I've been praying hard that, whatever the circumstances, God will salvage their disappointment.

This morning on the radio they were talking about what it would be like if they had to evacuate NYC should the hurricane go that far north (I'm not sure how likely this is, since the odds are ever-changing), and also how people have been booking hotel rooms as far inland as Pittsburgh...

Basically, I wanted to say, jalen_mara if you need to evacuate and you can't find a hotel for five states, you're welcome to come crash at my house. ;-)

Seriously, though. I'm remembering Katrina and keeping a wary eye out and prayers lifted for those who could lose a whole lot more than their vacations.
