My brain. She's a-maxed out.

Ugh, this morning I felt like I'd been run over by a truck. I was SO SLEEPY. I haven't been sleeping really well for a few weeks because my brain has been full of existential thinky thoughts running parallel with all my many things I must achieve, so even though I'm exhausted, I've been having trouble actually falling asleep at night.

As such, I indulged in a large pumpkin spice cappuccino at the Circle K this morning, something I haven't done for probably six months, since my tastes in coffee have matured to "I don't like it THAT sweet anymore" and I've gotten in the habit of reducing my sugar intake in general anyway. It was nice. Very sweet, but a good comfort after a stressful couple of weeks.

Last week I successfully managed to complete both my aggressive embroidery schedule for my Rapunzel costume and do a full-on strength+cardio workout all days but one, and it took its toll, all the more so because when I finally put my the costume skirt together on Saturday, the final fabric was the wrong color and I'm so obsessive-compulsive about getting it "right" at this point that my frustration ended up outweighing the positive aspects, namely, the skirt fits like a dream, it's super comfortable, the embroidery looks AMAZING, and the thing I don't like is fixable. I just have to wait a little bit longer).

If any of you were able to follow that whole logic of that last paragraph, I applaud you.

In short, it will be healthy for me to put the sewing machine away for awhile. This has gotten ridiculous. I need a reality check.

That probably isn't going to happen for a while, but in the meantime, I have the following plans for the evening:

--Call my friend Janine on the way home from work to chat
--Exercise (yoga and minimum strength only)
--Watch Doctor Who with Tirzah* while we work on last-minute costume tweaks**.
--Read a chapter of bookwormprinces's manuscript
--Take a sleeping pill and go to bed no later than 11:00 P.M.

*I felt strongly (and grav_ity agreed) that it would be best for T to be caught up on Doctor Who before we leave for D*C, since the huge spoiler at the end of A Good Man Goes to War is huge enough that it merits being experienced spoiler-free, and going to D*C and mingling with Who fans was too big a risk for her. Ergo, we are trying to catch up on S5 and S6 before we leave. (We will skip the Christmas special and come back to it for the sake of time).

**I'm going to reinforce the eyelet holes on the grommets that didn't quite take perfectly, which is about half of them. Later in the week, as we watch more Who, I will probably embroider the little "dots" that trail off to the left and right of the designs I finished last week. Fortunately, small dots will not take a long time.

At this point, I'm probably not going to worry about finishing my het_bigbang fic until after I get back from Atlanta. Once on the other side, I will be much better able to keep my focusness (to borrow from the great Jim Thome).
