Well. What a week! Things were super intense at work, and I'm gearing up for one more day of Important Cyclical Process that I Don't Really Know Yet before finally going home rejoicing that the hard part of my work month is past, ready to enjoy the weekend, my time off next week, and Dragon Con right around the corner. And sew like the wind, baby. (Somebody please tell me "sew like the wind" is not a movie quote exclusive to my family. There are a lot of those, though...)

It's a good thing that grav_ity is a Nerd, because she won't mind me working like a maniac on this costume for the better part of her four day visit. (Um, right, Kate? Heh.) I had planned to be significantly further along at this point, and would have been, except that last week's effort to get the main part of the bodice finished did not go as planned. Still, it wasn't a waste of time because I learned a TON. Last night I cut out all the tiny pieces again, I can only hope to heaven for the last time. At this point if the results aren't up to my crazy-anal perfectionist standards, I'm just going to have to live with it. Tonight I'm going to sew my darts and leave it alone until tomorrow morning. With the exception of a brief venture to get my cousin a birthday present, I pretty much will not be leaving the house or the sewing machine tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and I have my het_bigbang fic due by the same deadline, and a slideshow of our Paris trip to put together... *forehead smack*

I'll breathe in September. No big deal. ;-)

The sad thing is, I chose this insanity and I love every minute of it, when all is said and done.

Oh yeah, Zachary Levi is a totally adorkable NERD, in case there's one of you on my flist who maybe didn't know that already (warning, video apparently contains guest cast spoilers for S5 of Chuck? I haven't been following).

And now to have an awesome, productive work day.
