And here we are again. What a year.

1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before? COMIC-CON!!!! Also, DISNEYLAND!!!

2. Did you keep the new years resolutions you made last year? Very few.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My friend Sharon and her husband had their third child and first son, Andrew. She would be the closest.

4. Did anyone close to you die? A sister at my church. I wouldn't call us "close" per se, but anyone from church always counts by default. Also, Rebel Mom, an old internet friend. Again, I wasn't "close" to her, but some introspection after her death made me realize what a huge, critical influence she was on the writing of me and my friends.

5. What countries did you visit? Tomorrowland, Adventureland... (etc)... San Francisco... ;-)

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010? A copy of Shakespeare's Basement that's ready to start submitting to publishers. I really, really want that.

7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory?

July 1 - Riding the Goodyear blimp.

July 2 - Meeting emmaorgana for the first time in RL.

July 3 - Meeting grav_ity for the first time in RL.

July 5 - Had an epic and fulfilling conversation about God.

July 21 - Meeting miana_dude for the first time in RL.

July 22-25 - Comic Con. Costumes. Supreme Nerdiness. Awesome panels galore. Being thirty feet away from my celebrity crush. Stepping over Nathan Fillion without knowing it. Too many memories to count.

July 25 - Getting the news that grav_ity gave her heart to the Lord. I was in a really crowded hotel lobby of sleep-deprived, probably hung-over Nerds, and I burst into tears. Tirzah was alarmed. And then happy too.

July 26 - Disneyland!!! I pretty much didn't stop smiling the whole day. I would love to go back someday.

September 4 - Meeting rangersebulba for the first time in RL (are we detecting a pattern here?)

October 6 - Holding Awakenings in my hands. Thrilling, bizarre, and indescribable. And however many more books I am privileged to publish in the future (two, ten, or twenty dozen), none of them will ever quite compare to that moment.

December 29 - Emma's Princess Bride intervention party. At least half of my favorite people in the world were at my house all at the same time and meeting each other. It was REALLY BIZARRE and REALLY AWESOME.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? BECOMING A PUBLISHED AUTHOR!!!!

9. What was your biggest failure? It's work-related. I won't bore you.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Well, I started off on New Year's with a stomach bug. Thankfully, that was the worst I had it.

11. What was the best thing you bought? The little otter figurine for my Twelve Brethren collection. I only spent $5 on it, but it made me very, very happy to find it. Which just goes to show, the best things materialistically are not always the most expensive.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? My brother's, for coming back to church, looking for work, moving back home.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? This answer probably won't change for a long, long time, either.

14. Where did most of your money go? Vacations. LOL.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Conventions!

16. What song will always remind you of 2010? "I See the Light" from Tangled.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

a) happier or sadder? Happier.

b) thinner or fatter? A little bit thinner.

c) richer or poorer? Richer, in more than one way.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Writing and vidding.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Anticipating The Last Airbender (the movie). Haha.

20. Did you fall in love in 2010? No... not in love...

21. How many one-night stands? The only reason I'm keeping this question on the list is that I don't feel like renumbering everything after it.

22. What was your favorite TV program? Probably Community this year.

24. Do you dislike anyone now that you didn't dislike this time last year? Miley Cyrus. That girl had the beautiful opportunity to be a healthy role model for almost the entire American adolescent girl population and what has she done? "Explored her individuality" by being as useless a slob as the rest of the Lindsay Lohan crowd.

25. What was the best book you read? I'm going to go with "The Lost Hero" by Rick Riordan. This might be slightly skewed because I just finished it last week, but I can't wait to read it again, and that's always a good sign.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery? The soundtrack for How to Train Your Dragon.

27. What did you want and get? A costume I made with my own two hands for Comic Con!!

28. What did you want and not get? A great adaptation of A:tLA from M. Night Shyamalan.

29. What was your favorite film of this year? Arg, this question is a wrench. A wrench, I tell you! It was so easy up until Thanksgiving. And then there was an onslaught of great fandom films!!! It's a tie. I honestly can't decide. How to Train Your Dragon and Tangled have achieved a perfect tie for my favorite movie of 2010.

30. What did you do on your birthday? Went to work. Pulled balloons off my car afterward. :-)

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Finishing at least one writing projects...

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Professional vs. Nerdy. I expanded my office wardrobe even further, but I also invested a lot of money into Con costumes and Nerdy t-shirts. *GGG*

33. What kept you sane? God.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Yeah... some questions are hard but some are much, much too easy. For three years running now... *drumroll*... Zachary Levi.

35. What political issue stirred you the most? The government's role in the oil spill crisis.

36. Who did you miss?

37. Who was the best new person you met? This has kind of a special, collective answer. I 'met' four people this year that I've known for a long time online, some of them almost a decade. Taken as a whole, I'll count them all as the answer to this question. So, in order of encounter, Emma, Kate, Rachel, and Chris. Next year I look to add to this tally by at least one, maybe even two.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010. Living my life as my testimony really does make a difference.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Taken grossly out of context:

All at once everything looks different
Now that I see You.

"I See the Light" from Tangled
