Almost there... [/Red Leader]
I will elaborate on the ups and downs (literally and metaphorically) of Cedar Point a bit later on, but suffice to say I called off today because the physical toll was such that I felt it was justified.
Since I was already awake and dressed by the time I made up my mind, I got to work on my ruffles. I've done two this morning and reinforced the zipper again, this time making sure it will STAY. Anyway, trying on the skirt and eyeballing it this morning, I ahve decided that it is ready. I only need to make one more ruffle, and only that because I don't want to leave the rough edge on top that I have now.
So. Just one more. And then I am going to organize all the sewing stuff and finally vaccume the basement. (It's a gauntlet of satin fibers).
On Sunday when Tirzah comes over and we're watching Dr. Who, I going to take the time to finish as nicely as I can the waistline of the skirt, which at the moment has a rough edge, since I combined the liner and the skirt the wrong way with the interfacing and couldn't turn it inside out the way I was planning.
Additionally, I have quite a lot of the fabric left over for the ruffles, enough to make something else out of it. I was thinking maybe a nice drawstring bag of some kind to match the costume and to haul stuff around at Cons, though perhaps I'll save that as a project for Dragon Con in September. Yes, that's a much better plan. I have way too much left to do before Wednesday.
So. Finish last ruffle. Clean the house. Shower and primp. Go to dinner and movies tonight with Mom and Ruth.
