*sniff* Papa Bartowski! Although he was right next to a secret lab full of tissue regeneration equipment that apparently saved Shaw. Hmmmn...
Omg I know! I started yelling at my TV when Shaw shot him, the bastard. Damn but I really can't help but hope that we've seen the last of Shaw now. Maybe General Beckman will have him offed off-screen?
And that is a nice thought, that someone might be able to regenerate his tissues, but then, the only people around at the time besides Chuck and Ellie were Ring agents, so Papa B would end up waking in the hands of the Ring... But he'd still be alive and could escape and get back to the kids and help them find Mama B! :D
Re: Papa Bartowski, I wasn't so sad to see him go, except in that it made Chuck and Ellie so sad. :( I actually thought for a few minutes that Ellie would be able to save him, since it seemed the Ring agents left him all alone on the floor and, hey! Ellie's an awesome doctor! But no.
But, like sci-fi shows (and soap operas), no one who dies is really dead.

I was only a part-time Lost viewer, but I was satisfied with the finale, too.
