A day to myself. Mostly.

So, today I have so far taken my mom to the airport in the wee smalls, slept in till 9:00, watched two episodes of Parker Lewis, gone to the grocery store, unpacked my groceries, put my chicken to marinade, chopped peppers, put together lunches for the week and gotten Thursday's homework done. Oh, last night I also composed a letter to the young man I'm hoping will agree to do some promotional illustrations for Laura and I to use for Awakenings. After a quick (but sage) beta from Mel and a green light from Laura, I sent that off this morning as well. Now I am nervously anticipating any reply, hopefully on my cell phone which would speed the process along considerably.

Oh, I also talked to my dad. He came over to get his tackle box. He's on a cautious upswing from his usual cycle of depression and happiness. I have decided to treat him like a buddy and go along with his insistence on ignoring the elephant in the corner. After all, he's got commitment issues in general; if he just wants to go his happy-go-lucky, mostly solitary way, I'll learn to live with it. We are going to see Harry Potter together in a few hours.

Before then I'm going to take a nap, eat lunch and cook chicken, and clean up my bedroom, the kitchen, and the bathroom so they're all shiny sparkly and will (hopefully) set me in an efficient mood when my feet hit the floor in the morning.

Mom and I started watching DS9 last night. I have decided to wait until she comes back on Friday to resume watching it myself, which will give me nice chunks of free time to read my book or play C&K this week. I do NOT HAVE HOMEWORK until Friday night and that makes me happy. :-)
