Had the most amazing terrible-to-awesome turn around day today. Woke up extremely tired, everything was terrible, took ages to get myself out of the house, had a small crying fit around noon when a friend asked me how everything was going, but then...

Beloved flatmate R. started listing all the awesome things I'm doing/am involved in lately (the internet series, the podcast, arranging a guest of honor for an upcoming con, arranging a guest of honor for a major con in the fall, writing the book)

Because I was working at a friend's house I managed to get actual work done, WAY more than I thought I would, and I also got to have a homemade lunch that I didn't have to cook, and there were cats to pet during breaks, and it was just super productive and nice

I finally resolved some tasks I had hanging over me, including getting back to someone that I've been putting off getting back to since like, November. And it was fine! It was nice. I'm so glad I'm done with it and it's not hanging over me anymore.

And tomorrow I have a health related appointment that I didn't think I'd get in the next several weeks.

And a few people chose to support my patreon, which I'm enormously grateful for.

And there are terrible things in the world, but today I really managed to turn things around, thanks in part to the support of some lovely people.

Which is all to say, I wanted to share the most happy making thing that's sustained me lately, this actual cover of an upcoming comic about Joe and Nicky, immortal warrior husbands, in 1920s Berlin (AKA: someone's Old Guard Cabaret AU).

AAAAAH look at this thing!!! :DDDD

The HANDS, the CIGARETTES, the SUSPENDERS!!

Also as someone who couldn't make it through the comics for this thing because of how hideous (and also frankly offensive) she found the art, it's SUCH a breath of fresh air to have art that follows the movie casting (or more accurately in my mind, the fanart that came after the movie).

I am just forever not over this image. The intimacy, the playfulness, the fact that this is happening in public, the stylized smoking which I know is a bad example For The Youth but is perfect for Joe and Nicky because it looks cool without causing any health damage lol.

A friend on twitter even did me the favor of linking me to some tumblr fanart based on this cover, and ALL OF IT IS SO GREAT.

I hope this brings you joy, friends.
