So, tomorrow we enter our third national lockdown, currently scheduled to last 2 weeks, but really likely to last at least 4, since in about 6 weeks we'll apparently have most of the high-risk populations for covid vaccinated, if all goes according to plan, and risk factors will be down significantly.

I'd made plans before the news was announced, but I'm very glad that by accident I had a very busy weekend of seeing friends and family (in small groups of course and with safety measures).

On Friday a few friends came over and we had a Novii God party that in my head also doubled as a birthday party (since my birthday will fall within the lockdown, a fact I am trying not to thick about since I already find my birthday quite stressful and the primary pressure point is feeling like maybe people don't care about me Enough (it's complicated to explain and 100% related to bullshit from my mom when I was a kid) and let me tell you, being alone is gonna be super fun for that feeling). We had TONS of food, the house was SUPER decorated, we spent hours talking and then watched the first episode of Bridgerton, and I got an early birthday gift. It was magnificent.

Then I woke up the next day (today) and drove straight to
roga's parents' house to watch Wonder Woman 1984 on a big screen. There was a fireplace, we ordered sushi and ate leftover salad, and popcorn and roga peeled some citrus for us both. It was fantastic.

I'm only sad I couldn't stay longer, because as soon as the movie was over I had to drive back home, where my parents picked me up and drove me to my step sister's for her birthday visit (am I SALTY that my sister got to have her birthday A SECOND BEFORE THE LOCKDOWN while my entire birthday month will be taken up by fucking covid? A bit.)

We hung out with the kids, petted their adorable new puppy, had tea and cakes. It was OK? Visits at my sister's are never amazing, but I'm glad I got family time in before everything closed.

Tomorrow will be the last day stores are kind-of open in the morning, we'll see if I manage to buy some last minute things in a mad dash before the evening.

In other news: my beloved flatmate R. is in isolation again :/ For the second time this month, because her stupid workplace insists on people working on-site as much as possible, and so a second before the lockdown she spent about 20 minutes in a room with a confirmed, asymptomatic patient, while R. had her mask on but the confirmed patient was eating lunch and talking, so. Isolation it is.

R. has done a test, we'll hopefully have the results soon, and while nothing is guaranteed it'll help calm both of us down. She'll have to be in isolation for 10 days regardless (7 days left, now) and since it's the lockdown I'll also be at home all the time, which means R. can't leave her bedroom at all without coordinating with me so we're not in the same spaces (R. wears a mask and gloves regardless of course). Which means she has to text or call me every time she wants to go to the bathroom, or make a cup of coffee, etc.

We already did that this month, I tried to not be home as much as possible to give her space, and it was still a nightmare. Now we'll have to do it for a week while in lockdown, which is already hard. BLAH. Absolutely terrible.

We even had such plans for this lockdown! We were going to go back to our lunches together, to watching shows in the evenings, to ordering from fun restaurants. :( Now we'll have to do all those things apart.

Also, sweet lord I need to figure out how I'm going to get through the depression fest of my birthday in this damn lockdown.

Anyway, I'll stop this rambly post here.
