Meds on board!

Mar 11, 2015 13:02

Yay! After two nights with my meds back on board, I am almost human again. THe shaking has stopped, I can almost think clearly again, and I don't feel like I'm on the verge of falling down.

Job interview went well, I think. Won't know any more on it until they finish with all the interviews, probably sometime next week.

Spent last night carving holes in little gourds for birdhouses. Am teaching a class (well, 4 classes) next month for Very Special Arts. Birdhouses for one class, Fairy Gardens for another, and then Spring-themed mobiles for the 3rd and 4th classes. It's hard sometimes to come up with fun and exciting classes for VSA, due to the ability levels of the folks I'm working with, but I think hey will enjoy these.

Weather has been disgustingly beautiful, with clear blue skies and temps in the 30s and 40s. I managed (finally) to dig a trench through the huge mountain from the front door to he driveway. It was horrible, and both Lee and I have taken a spill on it more than once. So, now we have a trench and can open the front door all the way. Another month of this weather and I might be able to see the garden again! Most roads are already clear to the pavement!

I see prompt fest I here once again. Looks like I might have to throw my hat in this time around. We shall see, as I have a small pile of things that Must Be Finished between now and MISTI. With luck, I shall have a 2nd job to throw into the mix as well.

Have taken a few days off from painting tiles. I couldn't hold my hands still enough when I was off meds and ruined a couple tiles in the process (not to worry, I was able to scrub them clean. The paint isn't permanent until I seal it with clear coat). Hufflepuff tiles are giving me the most problems of the bunch so far. The badger hasn't been cooperating. How very odd. Have almost all of the Supernatural-themed tiles done, and almost all of the Dr. Who-themed ones done. Not even close on the HP-themed ones. Just a few of the Hogwarts crests are finished. All the other houses are in various states of completion. And I still have 2 more boxes of tiles. I was very fortunate and came across 3 boxes of Italian floor tiles for at rummage-sale prices. So that's what I'm working with. Very durable, and they look lovely, too! Wouldn't use them as floor tiles, though. I don't think the clear coat is that durable. Should serve nicely as drink coasters, though.

My next project, after finishing up the tiles, is finishing up all the Things for MISTI. a couple of costume pieces, the mailbox for our room, and then The Packing List. I am so glad I am driving.

Girl Scout cookies have finally started to arrive. We've missed out on cookies a couple years in a row now due to lack of Girl Scouts, now we seem to have a flood of them. Bought from a co-worker with daughters in the Scouts, from a neighbor, and from my own granddaughter. :)

I'd comment on my thoughts about the current news regarding race relations, international relations vs. the GOP, and regarding male privilege and women's lack of rights, but that would put me in a right foul mood, and I have to go to work in a couple hours. But, yeah, we still have a Very long way to go in this country (and he rest of the world!) regarding Liberty and Justice for All.
