So, we bought this thing today.
So we bought this thing today. Actually Saturday, but had to wait for the bank to approve it. I finally have wheels again. and it's a stick shift, so I get to remember how to drive a stick again. Still, it's just in time for me to take it to Marquette with me when I go to my mom's for 2 months. And I will be able to run errands without having to rely on her neighbors.
Things are happening here at the homestead. Good, for the most part, but I'm having trouble processing it all mentally. I've been in a holding pattern and "crisis mode" for so long, I don't know quite how to react to it all. Not to worry, I'll sort it all out eventually.
Disgustingly beautiful weather the last few days- crystal clear blue skies, 50+ degrees. running around without a coat, and I'm still sweltering. Snow is melting at a nice clip, even with more snow in the forecast (not much, and nothing that will stick). Need to remember to order my cherry tree and a couple of black currant bushes.
Got a set of 4 tires for free (they're no good for driving on), and they will become new planters for my more aggressive herbs. Will have to buy a lot of dirt, but then I can move the oregano completely and fill in the strawberry patch. Have to think about what to put in the other 3 "planters". :)
It's an '01 Subaru Forrester, AWD, 5-speed, only one previous owner. Got the Carfax on it for free, is a nice vehicle. There were actually 2, the other was red, but it cost more, so I was happy to take the green one for the cheaper price. And the payments are in our price range. We lucked out on this one. Just like we did with my Jeep, many years ago. Bought it from the same place. They've been good to us. :)
