So, I was late to work today...

As all and sundry know, we were hit/are being hit with a late season snowstorm (normal, actually. There's always one). Projected was 15"-18" (and more in higher terrains) when all is said and done.

Well, let's just say, I live in one of the "higher terrains".

The bulk of it came down overnight, but the snow hasn't stopped yet, and is projected to continue through the night and part into Saturday morning.

I threw Jaeger out into it out the back door at about 8am this morning, and it looked about 7"-10". I didn't look in the driveway. Nor did I attempt to open the front door, either. My mind was on breakfast.

So, By trying to take off 20 minutes early (to allow for really crappy roads. No one ever plows the roads in Dodgeville), I was still late because I COULDN'T GET THE FRONT DOOR OPEN!!! So, after much shoving, I was able to squeeze myself out and shovel enough to get the door operating properly. Well, mostly properly.

Had to sweep off the truck. Wet, heavy snow doesn't sweep easily. And the snow was over the top of my boots, making getting around the vehicle even more interesting. That means the snowfall in the driveway (no drifting with heavy, wet snow) was over 15". Yes, you read that right. It was up to my knees

Did I mention it's still coming down?

On the up side, it's fairly warm out (in the 20s!), and I didn't need 4 layers of clothes and arctic-grade gloves. :)
