Alas, Promptfest

I was so excited because I am getting new glasses in a few days, and I will be able to do art without significant eyestrain!

Alas, I will be away to my mother's for all of April and a good chunk of May. Not really leaving me any time to sit down and actually make art. At least, nothing I would be comfortable sending off. So, no promptfest (again) for me.

Someday, when I have my life back again, art will happen! But not before June. And even then... there will be gardening to do, and an upstairs bathroom to finish...

In the meantime, I have wool to card to get ready to take with me to mom's next month. Bills to pay, and house to clean up and square away for when I'm gone.

In other news, I have decided to sell off my Jeep this spring (when the snow melts off and the ground is solid enough to actually move it without sinking). We will need the money for a downpayment on another vehicle. ::crosses fingers::

My old boss wants to buy my serger. I haven't decided yet. In truth, I hardly use it anymore, but when I do need it, it's a joy to have. I don't know. Again, we could sure use the money... :/

Lots of things to consider this year. Huge life changes. I will be missing about 5 months of work this year. As in, no income from me. Have to finish refilling the etsy account (some yarn has been posted, not all of it yet).

We *owed* taxes this year. Not much, really, under $200, but the fact that we needed the return to fix things didn't happen and a lot of scrambling did happen. Still have to mail that in to the IRS while I'm thinking about it.

The VA is being disgustingly slow on Lee's re-evaluation. They also need to get a new pulmonologist. Idiot can't find files right in front of his face, says one thing, doesn't follow through, and sets back Lee's therapy even further. Lee *can* request a different specialist, but we would have to drive to Milwaukee to see them. Taking time off of work he doesn't have and spending money on gas and hotels we don't have (Yes, he would get reimbursed, but we have to come up with the money first and they will repay it later through direct deposit).

Wicked Faire was a blast! Drank some, chatted a LOT (which in turn, made me thing about making some new life changes), and even filled my 64G memory int he video camera. ::headdesks:: I bought that chip because I did that last year with my two 8G chips. So, must buy another 16G. Should be enough for next year. Still working on getting it all up on youtube and then dumping it all on my hard drive so I can empty out the laptop. I have 50G left in the memory in the laptop. Oops. :P

Clingy cat has been clingy. Dogs have been noisy. Hubby has been messy. In other words, nothing changes while I'm away.
