Shadow went to the vet this afternoon and ten minutes later she has an antibiotic ointment for her eye.  She also loves the laser pointer I bought her.
I spent way too much money on shoes... Hehe. I own a pair of black and white plaid kicks and the black nubuck slips I saw months ago and wanted. So much for buying sandals.
Latte Da bosslady invited me to her Fourth of July party but I cannot go because of Kitchens work.  On the plus side, I get to wear jeans tomorrow.

I had a Sears employee complain about my customer service today...
Yesterday she yelled at Sarah #1 about wanting exactly 12oz. of coffee in her fifty cent refill mug and that we should always measure the coffee out for her (after Kathy refused to do it).  Today she forgot her mug and asked / assumed that she could buy a 12oz. cup of coffee for fifty cents instead of the normal $1.61 w. tax.   I asked my boss who said just this one time.  I tell the lady and she proceeds to complain -
"You mean I have to walk all the way back and get my mug? You know I'm a customer here so why can't I have my coffee for fifty cent?."  This is the first time I'd ever met her.  "Well, am I supposed to remember everyone who has a refill drink card by sight?" "Yes,"  she replies. "I can give you the coffee for fifty cents just this one time.  Next time remember your mug."
While I'm taking care of her co-worker's drink orders and running the credit machine, she proceeds to loudly complain about the service.  Her co-worker asks for a spoon and I quick threw it up on the counter, which set the complaining off again.
"You will NOT throw a spoon at her.  You hear me?  You come back here and HAND her the spoon."
She sets it by the edge of the counter and glares at me.  Meanwhile I'm trying to continue to ten and notice the line forming behind the Sears ladies. I try to ask her nicely if she would like a spoon too.  She purposefully pretended not to hear me and told me to speak up while staring me in the eye.  I come back with her receipt and card, hand it to her to sign,  give her co-worker the spoon, and ask her nicely again if she wants a spoon of her own "No, I'm going to use her's.  I swear, I'm going back to Starbucks. Can I return my coffee mug?"  "I'm not sure if you can if you used it already..."  "I can't believe this!"
And she storms out with her co-workers and coffee continuing to complain.  Waiting this whole time is the nice old man who always buys 2 cookies and lets us keep the change; an employee from Taco Bell sent to get her boss coffee; Norma, the nicest little old lady I've ever met who splits her coffee with her husband; and a customer at the cash register who had been waiting patiently to check out.
I asked Kathy later if that lady who had berated me was the same from yesterday she had warned me about earlier in the day.  She was.  I asked if I could not serve her coffee the next time she comes in.  Kathy said I could.  There have been so many times I've wanted to step away from the counter and tell someone, "No, I'm not going to do such and such for you until you apologize for being rude."
What amazes me the most, however, is a lady thanked us profusely for offering free samples of coffee.  In a slightly European accent she said, "This is all the coffee I want and it's so good! Thank you for doing this. This is nice."

work, bad customers, shadow
