A friend of mine from South Carolina called me. Apparently he met a girl... for me... that I already met.
He ran into this girl and, after talking with her for a while, dropped my name. She told him that we went to school together. Now he believes that he's in a romantic comedy that will ends with me and her living hapily ever after. Sounds nice, but I have no idea who this girl is.
See, he only gave me her first name, and I don't remember anyone by that name. I've even tried variations of it in case she goes by a shortened version of her name now. It doesn't help that I'm extremely bad with names. I kept asking for a description, and all he'd tell me is "funny and clever." That's nice, but hair and eye color might be easier to place. I'd hate to see my friend trying to pick out a person in a police line up: "Number 3, would you please tell a joke." Then I realized I was only thinking about people I knew in college when he had said "school." After asking himc 7 times, he finally told me which school we knew each other at: elementry school.
I even asked my sister if she might remember the name, but it turns out that she is as bad at remembering names as I, and she has these same conversations with her best friend about people they went to school with.
Well, he gave me her email. Should I write this girl a letter in hopes that the responce might jar a memory?
