New York Adventure

Well, this weekend I went to the Big Apple to see ficwriter1966 .  Twas great fun.  We were supposed to meet at Penn Station on Saturday.  I dutifully scoped out the thousands (it seemed like thousands ) of people visiting for the holiday weekend but guess what? she snuck up on me while in Penn Station!  She is a stealthy one that ficwriter!

After hugs and kisses and OMGs we went off to visit Manhattan!

WOOT

It was pouring!  We tried to pretend it wasn't but that was not the case.  I was wearing my favorite blue raincoat/parka type thingy that I wore when I painted houses for Habitat for Humanity.  I looked like an artistic reject, but at least I was dry.

I can't tell you how much fun it was just to wander the streets, even in the rain.  We had no agenda except to see a show and even then we were flexible. So we trotted off to get tickets for The Adams Family!

It was wonderful!  Third row baby!  Then after we donated some money for Broadway Fights Aids (or something similar, I'm not sure) *iz shamed* and went back stage to get  pics with some of the cast!  I think  I'm still grinning.

Then to our hotel (The Blakey is lovely).  Then to Central Park.

I haz never been there. Gorgeous.  We even got a Hansom Cab ride.  (Check that off bucket list)  Saturday night after a delish dinner of soup and pannini and to DIE FOR blueberry cheese cake we went for a walk!  It had stopped raining and the sky was strangely gray but it was beautiful.  We walked around, gabbed, enjoyed the lovely breeze and warm evening.  We stopped by a fancy restaurant that had what smelled like something good cooking.   There was a big white awning and a chef..we peeked in.  They were BBQing whole SHEEP.  Or maybe GOATS. Because who can tell when there is no fur.  But their little heads and teeth and eyes.

I was gonna take a pic to post but we decided it was bad Karma.

We watched the boys play in Frontierland and laughed our asses off.

We talked fic and I drank Sangria and great fun was had.

Sunday was the park again, little girls in Easter dresses and more walking.  Got a great necklace and earring set for my big girl (yes ficwriter1966  she did like it.)

Then more walking. *eyes up sore tootsies*

I just had so much fun!

Here's the pics (hopefully)

Me and Carol and Murphy, the Belgian cross.  Our driver told us at the end of the ride that Murphy used to be crazy.  Then he touched his hind leg with his hand and Murphy just about jumped out of his traces.   Thanks Mr. Driver, for waiting till the end of our ride.  (Actually, Murphy was a gentleman)

The place we ate lunch on Sunday.  Can anyone say one pound deli sandwiches for $26?

So there is our trip.   Thanks for the fun, Carol...I'm almost recovered by today!

fangurls, rl, peeps
