I was looking at the news today and found this article, Raps filed vs driver who rammed vehicle into funeral march.
My brother Nunik told me about this. He was on his way to Marikina to meet some friends and the jeep he was riding passed the scene of the crime minutes after it happened. "Fresh pa yung dugo, ate," he said. It was really tragic, he said. :(
Everyday, especially for the commuters, we place our lives in the hands of the drivers and trust that they take us safe and sound to our destination. It's scary to think that a moment of carelessness can cause an accident that can take the lives of people.
Any everyday, when I arrive home and see my brothers safe, I am thankful.
I don't normally read Ramon Tulfo's column (therefore I don't normally agree with him either), but I can't help but agree with this one, "Pinoys consider civic duty a burden".
