Exhausted update

Rehearsal with some of the top musicians in Orissa is going well.  I was a little surprised that they decided to double the tempo of my dance on my first run through, but I hit all the beats and smiled a lot.  My stance wasn't low enough, but otherwise they didn't have specific complaints.  I was really grateful, because they've performed with the greatest dancers in the Odissi world and can be harsh critics.  The huge rush of adrenaline from rehearsing my solo with the musicians in the evening has definitely helped me control my jet lag and adjust quickly to the 12.5 hour time difference.

We get up at 6am to have chai and yoghurt, then take an autorickshaw to the Rudrakshya dance school for a yoga class.  Then normally we have a group dance rehearsal until early afternoon.  Then a little time to run errands, eat lunch, and nap.  Then rehearsal again in the evening. until 9:30  We don't usually have time to eat dinner.  Tonight the musicians are recording some new music for us, so we have the evening off to see a performance of Manipuri martial arts and contemporary dance at the Dhauli Festival.  We may be running a little late, since we need to get fitted for some new costumes this evening as well.
