Made it to Bhubaneswar
I've been in India for 20 hours and have already attempted to explain what a UV water filter (handheld) was in Hindi and stumbled into a Thai and Malaysian restaurant in suburban Kolkata. And I wanted Thai food so badly when I lived here in college! I also wandered through several large political demonstrations in Bhubaneswar, including an all-woman march, all wearing brilliant jewel colored saris. After spending the night listening to the "awaz karo" of horns sounding constantly on the highway outside my hotel in Kolkata, I'm feeling excited and happy to be here. Hotel Priya in Bhubaneswar continues to be one of the more pleasant places I've stayed outside of someone's house.
