You know, if Lee wanted to give the Pleistocene era indigenous humans the "best of us", he could've given them penicillin! And metalworking, and the combustion engine, and genetic engineering to quickly modify wild species enough that they could become domesticable crops. But seriously, I bet they would've been a big hit if they'd brought their techie (and particularly medical) know-how. What was teh point of Cottle not being allowed to go on the Mission to Re-re-re-re-kidnap Hera because they couldn't spare a doctor, if they were planning on abandoning all his medical knowledge anyway?

And don't even get me started on those five white males lying in the grass, talking about how they're going to enrich the lives of the primitive brown locals by civilising them, colonising them, and fathering babies on them. I mean, there are multiple levels of sexist and racist squick there. That scene actually makes me kind of glad that their colonisation efforts evidently failed utterly, and whichever remnants of the population managed to survive rpobably only did so because they were a small enough group to be considered not to be a threat, and got "adopted" by one of the hunter-gatherer tribes.

You know, beccatoria is planning a pretty massive vid project, in which she's going to throw out all canon after 4.11 (Sometimes a Great Notion) and No Exit (for the backstory). And then she plans to cobble together a different ending using whichever salvage-able scenes she can from the rest of Season 4.5. It's a big job, but she'll probably do a better job than the show. You should be happy, Mr. Moore. You inspired the TV version of the Star Wars, Episode 1: the Phantom Edit.
