I tend to find there are always things that make me scratch my head, whether in 'geez, I can't believe they did that' or 'wtf?either they missed something there or I did' in every episode of this show
( ... )
The scary thread of radiation/cancer that ran through the ep, touching both Sarah and Derek in different ways. Continuity and attention to what came before in your canon is a very good thing
I'm not sure how I feel about this and what it says about Derek's committment to the cause. I mean, Sarah knows that in at least one possible future, cancer will kill her and she still runs into the room. Derek does not.
Though, then again, it may just be more pointing out the difference between have a theoretical idea of what the future will hold (with the cancer and JD) and having actually lived through it. I'm sure Derek saw plenty of folks die horribly from radiation poisoning in the aftermath of JD.
I dunno.
I do know that I'm with stardust_20 on the Sarah thing. Not so much Headey, she seems like a nice enough woman, but I cannot stand her port rayal of Sarah. The only time I came close to liking her last year was when she and John shared that moment right before the Jeep blew up. She's so one-note, it's grating

One of my favorite scenes in the series so far was from 2.01 - Derek needling Charley when they're stuck in traffic, and that subtle smile on his face when he finally pissed Charley off. Definitely with the sense of humor. Heh.
I put Derek's hesitation down to seeing first-hand the effects of radiation poisoning and knowing 1) he can get to the same place by going around, 2) Cameron can hold her own a little longer than a mere human so those few seconds' delay aren't quite as precious, and 3) he can do a lot more for John and the future alive and healthy than he can by risking death or serious disability through radiation poisoning. If pressed, I could probably come up with more, but his hesiatation there didn't bother me nearly as much as some of the other WTF moments.
Hey, I tried to like Sarah, I really did. Heck, I kind of couldn't stand John at the beginning either. I only watched for Cam, but John's growing on me a bit. I was hoping the same would happen with Sarah, but nope.
Yeah, I've decided that you're right. Green even made a comment in some interview about the difference between being willing to do everything to prepare John for the future, as Sarah is unquestionably, and having actually lived through it, killing or almost being killed on a daily basis. I think that's where the hesitation came from. Having seen so much post-JD, unless John was actually in the room being threatened, Derek wasn't going in and for that, he's probably (much) smarter than Sarah

The WTF-ery moments were numerous, but I liked it all the same. Of course, I had to tape it and I still need to sit down and watch it. but not tonight.
Kinda like you may not be able to actual watch SPN tonight? *nods* Same here. I had to watch SCC Tuesday on FOX's website and it was all stuttery and I'll probably have to watch both SPN and Burn Notice tomorrow on their respective websites because my husband thinks SPN is too scary (*rolls eyes*) and he's not caught up on BN yet.
My hubby will watch BN and SCC if there's no football on. o.O
since the DVR is in our bedroom, I can only record things he's watching or when he's not in. The TV arrangement in our house is weird, but works for the most part.
I think the last show he got that interested in was Jericho.
Omg, the barcode was a great little moment. And I liked how the boss dude was a bad guy, he made Sarah do the decon, but then he wasn't THAT bad.
But the most interesting tidbit to me was that we now have confirmation that Skynet/Weaver can purposefully duplicate individuals as terminators. The husband last year wasn't a one-off that needs to be handwaved. He was a real-person who was replaced. Add the presence of a T1000 from a more distant future and there are a whole bunch of scary possibilities. Including the time-space continuum collapsing because of all the rips in it...
I never doubted that specific individuals could be duplicated because of Cromartie. I mean, we even saw the duplication process. At least physically. Although yeah, I guess duplication in personality and other areas would be more problematic, wouldn't they? So maybe I should have doubted. :P
