Shameless | DCU | Clark/Bruce, Cat Grant | PG-13 | 519 w
Prompt: for
ladybugkay - Clark/Bruce - Bruce gets all hot and bothered about the new reporter at the Planet who keeps fawning all over Clark and touching him.
Summary: Pretty much what the prompt says. :p
Author's Note: I went with an established reporter instead of a new one. That's just where the plot bunny took me. :p Sorry!
Shameless
The third day that Bruce showed up at the Planet to take Clark to lunch, the reporter finally realized that something was wrong. The darker side of the Bat seemed to lurking just beneath Bruce's cool demeanor, eyes wary and searching, suspicion tinging the billionaire's voice.
“All right, what's wrong?” Clark asked as he shut down his computer and stood from his desk.
“Nothing,” Bruce replied curtly, crossing his arms over his chest.
Returning a quirky smile, Clark chuckled, “Heh. Right. You've gone into full passive-aggressive mode, B-”
But he was cut off as another City reporter swept around his desk, calling, “Clarkie!” Cat Grant brushed a hand over his shoulder as she moved around him to lean close, handing him a folder. “You promised to proof this for me by two. Don't tell me you're rushing off for the day,” she pouted.
“Just heading out for lunch, Cat,” he said, accepting the folder and laying it on his desk. “I'll be back in plenty of time to get this back to you.”
“Promise?”
“Cross my heart,” he smiled. When she grinned in return, patted him on the arm, and swept away, he turned back to Bruce. “Okay, let's-” Again, he was stopped dead, this time by the look on his lover's face. Eyes flashing, jaw clenched, Bruce was all Bat. Clark could hear his pulse thundering through his veins, his breath rushing through flared nostrils, even his teeth grinding. “Bruce?” he asked carefully. “Are you-?”
His only response was the flicker of Bruce's eyes toward him and away again.
It took Clark entirely too long to realize his lover was staring after Cat as she sashayed her way through the bullpen back to her own desk. Seeing it, everything clicked at once. “Are-are you jealous?” he snickered, lightly gripping Bruce's bicep.
When the Bat didn't move, his chest rising and falling with heavy breaths beneath his crossed arms, Clark moved in front of him, standing close. “Hey,” he prompted. “Cat's harmless, I swear. You've seen her at those society functions, she flirts more than you do!”
After a moment, Bruce finally met Clark's gaze with his own. “Not with you, she doesn't.”
“What? Bruce!” He lowered his voice to a whisper, “If you got like this every time some woman threw herself at me after a rescue, you'd-”
“Who says I don't?” Bruce practically snarled, cutting Clark off.
“And what about all the women that throw themselves at you, huh?”
“That's different.”
“Baloney. You just can't stand it, can you, seeing unassuming, nerdy Clark Kent get attention? You should be feeling smug that I come home to you at night, that you're the one that snagged Superman,” he finished with a smirk.
At last, Bruce let out a long breath, uncrossing his arms. “I still have half a mind to have her transferred back to Society.”
“You're adorable, you know that?” Planting a light kiss on Bruce's nose, Clark grabbed his hand to lead him out. “Come on, let's go to lunch, already.”
Bruce grumbled under his breath all the way to the elevator.

Shot of the Century | DCU | Jimmy Olsen, Clark/Bruce | PG-13 | 419 w
Prompt: for
starsandsea - Clark/Bruce - camera
Summary: Jimmy takes a photo that could do a lot of damage.
Shot of the Century
Browsing through the photos on his laptop, Jimmy searched for just the right shot to submit with Clark's article on the explosion at the Wayne Foundation Fund Raiser that morning. It had been an enormous blast, killing seven and injuring at least a hundred. Would have been far worse if Superman and Batman hadn't both arrived, working together to get the building evacuated and the fire put out. Luckily for the photographer, he'd been across the street from the banquet hall when it happened; not only did he escape unscathed, he'd managed to get the entire thing on camera from the rooftop of a neighboring building.
Quickly, he scanned through dozens of shots. Flames, firefighters, evacuated event attendees, a few shots of the heroes themselves. It was all the usual, with a few gems scattered throughout that he sorted out and dropped onto his desktop to keep track of.
Ten minutes into his careful sorting, something caught his eye. It was a shot of the rooftop of the hotel where the event was held, taken at least a few minutes after it seemed all the flames had been doused and the building had been emptied. Superman and Batman - a rare treat to spot in the same place at the same time, especially in the daylight. Jimmy enlarged the photo to seventy-five percent. Looked like the two heroes might have been shaking hands, and... no. No, they weren't shaking hands. The two standing close, it appeared that Superman had a hand on Batman's face, tilting his chin up while he dipped his own head to... And Batman... one of his hands was disappearing beneath Superman's cape, angled toward...
Eyes wide and heart pounding, Jimmy closed the photo and shut his laptop. He didn't think he needed to see the photo enlarged to full size to get the picture; it was pretty evident from what he'd already seen. After taking a moment to calm himself, he opened the laptop again, dragged the incriminating photo and the three subsequent shots to the 'trash', and started sorting through the best photos to find something more... suitable to go with the article, making a mental note to have Clark 'pass on a message' to Superman that he might want to be more discreet. The last thing he wanted was to out the World's Finest to the public. Or let someone else with a quick camera and a sharp eye do it. Lois and Clark would never forgive him.
