Movie Night
Nearly finished with his story on the new mayor’s administration, Clark saw Jimmy sit back from his own desk and scrub his hands over his face.
“Oh man, I gotta get outta here. I am done, Clark,” Jimmy groaned.
“That bad, huh?” he laughed, fingers flying to get out the last few sentences and hit ‘save’ and send it on to the Copy desk.
“I think I’ve looked at five thousand shots today, picking through them with a fine-toothed comb. My vision is swimming with pixels.” Shutting down his work station, Jimmy gathered up his coat and camera. “You coming?”
Finally done, Clark shut down his own computer and followed suit, nodding in return. “Yep. Let me just-” But he stopped in his tracks, his coat halfway on. Naturally, his hearing zeroed in on an auto accident several blocks up.
“Aw, man, you gotta fly, don’t you?” Jimmy sighed, disappointment clear in his voice.
For a moment, Clark hesitated, ready to nod and zip out to lend a hand, but then he listened harder, and realized it was just a fender-bender, nothing pressing, no one really hurt, thank goodness. His shoulders relaxing, he gave Jimmy a slow smile and finished tugging on his coat. “Not this time. Come on, we’ve got an appointment with the movie trilogy of your choosing and my Ma’s infamous chile con queso, remember?”
Meeting him along the center aisle of the bullpen as they walked out, Jimmy practically bounced, catching his hand and stealing a quick kiss. “You remembered movie night!”
Clark smiled crookedly down at him, and adjusted his glasses with one finger, glad to see his partner perking up after such a long day. “Of course I remembered. Now,” he added, leaning close to whisper in Jimmy’s ear, “you wanna walk home, or fly?”
Jimmy’s grin was like sunshine, his laughter contagious, and almost as soon as they got up to the roof, they were airborne.

Entwined
Sometimes, Diana wonders that Steve was not actually born an Amazon, a powerful warrior in his own right, even as a man. His sunshine beauty and strength is unmatched, if not in actual physicality, then at least in her eyes. Especially now, with him moving beneath her, his broad hands holding her hips in place as he rises to meet her, plunging deep. He is Apollo, the Sun God, and she Artemis, Diana, Goddess of the Hunt and the Moon, their true story lost to the ages and misinterpreted in legend. Never blood, but forever entwined.
A cry escaping her as she reaches the height of her pleasure, she catches his sapphire gaze, holds him tightly within her as he follows, his taut muscles shivering beneath his tanned skin. In their zenith, they are one, warrior and Amazon, Sun and Moon, now and forever.
Their truth revealed, Diana smiles down at her Beloved.
