It's... unfortunate? That both Dickie and Bruce have alternate personas that are almost all ... bad/corrupt.

Corrupt cop. Mobster's kid. Sleazy mobster. All the sorts of bad elements that Jason would be so used to growing up, there's almost no way he'd meet someone nice.

Except maybe as Brucie Wayne?

Lol i just realised you DID actually write the Malone/Robbie/Jason thing I'd been all wibble about in the Malone/hooker!Jay bits.

Well, not a threesome precisely, but... you know, that.

And Dick's pretty good, but Bruce is better at makign sure that Jason gets his fix of pain/humiliation without coming out of it with bruises and cuts and scrapes.

.... if they did have Alvin Draper enter the scene, I think Jay'd probably get all protective, rather than screw him. >.>

And I sort of see Dick as not being so afraid to be rough with Jay, and that's one of the reasons Jay goes to him for it.

I agree that Jay would be protective of Alvin, but I think he'd sort of relish the opportunity to be something for someone else that he never had. I think he'd also blur those lines so much that he couldn't resist taking a little advantage, especially if Alvin was receptive to it. Not in a creepy way, just... I dunno, in a needy kinda way, and very much in an H/C kinda way.

And hehehe... I dunno if that'll ever happen, but you never know! Jay might require a little discipline there. ^_~

Huh, I kinda thought it was cause Dick was less able to manhandle Jason around like he's still a teenager, unlike Bruce.

(Bruce is always able to manhandle his robins like they're tiny tiny kiddies)

THough maybe it's a physical thing vs mental thing? Since Dick is more, rough, but he's less psychologically fucking with Hooker!Jay, while Malone really does a number on Jay's hooker-psyche, you know? In a way while Dick physically roughs jay up, Jay still is, potentially... a sorta equal? an asset, to Robbie and Officer Grayson, while to Malone, hookerJay's still very much a kid, a boytoy that can be very easily broken.

I think the difference is both a size thing and a mental thing. Bruce is all too aware of his size, and takes special care not to hurt anyone smaller than him (though Jay isn't TOO much smaller), while Dick is smaller than Jay, so he'd be more inclined to be rougher, b/c he knows Jay can take it. And yes, the 'boytoy' thing and 'asset' thing definitely works into it as well.

Though honestly, I don't think about any of this stuff when I'm writing. :p It all just comes out as it comes out.

It's all about what I bring to the table with what I know of the canon characters and what my personal headcanon is.

Personally I can never picture Dick as smaller'n Jay. I just... can't.

Soooo I ignore that. :P

The way Bruce deals with Jay though, is like he CAN manhandle Jay really easily - though with Bruce, Jay does behave as if he's 13 again, and is restricted physically accordingly, while with Dick he's like a mouthy 16-18 year old punk, and struggles/fights back as much.

That's how the best writing happens; the author just writes, and doesn't analyze it to death in the process.

As for Dick's size, canon has him at 5'10", and Jay at 6', so that's my basis. Plus, I see them as just having different builds. *shrug*

I can see the behavioral differences you pointed out, though. It could be worth noting. :p

Strange huh. Usually canon goes that they have the bestest good guys be taller/tallest, and their side-kicks shorter.

Which was why they had that pointed, Bruce-hugging-Timmy pict where Timmy was suddenly bwah tiny again, even though he was like, manly-tall in other picts.

In general I just kinda, disregard whatever the bio books say they are, because I like my headcanon better. :P

I also like people manhandling Jaybird. (Which, yes i know height has nothing to do with it, I just. nnn. *flails*)

Right now I have a Priest!Jason in my head, even though in THAT universe Bruce was dead, but in my head Priest!Jason happened after his death and never became Red Hood.

Apparently it happened in Flashpoint. For some reason Bruce wasn't Batman. Jason ended up following Brother Blood (who? wut?) and then died. Came back again (I think the authors LIKE having Jason do the resurrect thingy, and handwave everything that led to it because logic what logic), and then went into the priest-hood.

He, btw, looks very sacrilegiously hot in a Roman collar and all those buttons of his cassock.

I mean Dick is all sad that Jason requires this sort of treatement, but he'd do it because Jason'd go off and get hurt trying to get it from someone else otherwise.

He might even go to a villain to get it!

I think a lot of jason's thing, though, is that knowing he might do all this, be hurt and be taken advantage of as a teenager, as a kid, but he knows at the end of it DIck and Bruce would be there to take care of him and make sure he's not too hurt.

That's probably part of it, which might be why he wouldn't go to anyone else.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Jason wouldn't really go to anyone else, even though Dick thinks he might. He's screwed in the head, but not stupid.

And that's where I jump off this train, b/c there's just WAY too much meta, considering I mostly have written the adult parts of this series for the identity porn.
