Perry scanned the article, titled “Superman Visits Metropolis University Stadium, Calls On City To Lend A Hand,” and looked up from his desk at Clark, his eyebrows raised in surprise. “Huh. Garvin told me you got the exclusive, but I almost didn't believe him. Great job, Kent.”
Why do I get the feeling that could bite him in the butt later? Well this Lois isn't terribly competitive so maybe not. But heck, he totally should use his identity to raise awareness about whats going on in the stadium! Good boy!
“Thanks. I was lucky they called me. I passed it on to Jimmy, too, so he should have some―”
And true to form, he spread the wealth lol AND he's helping him quit drinking all in the same swoop! No job too big or small for Superman! :)
Perry laid down the photos and remarked, “Looks like Teague Williams beat you to the punch.”
-whimper- I hope they don't twist his visit....
“Well,” he began, his voice warm and even, “I heard how many people were displaced by damages caused by the earthquake last week, and I had to come and ( ... )

Hehe.. All part of my master plan to bring Jimmy's story a little more to the front, since there's something good waiting near the end for him. :p
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Expect more along this vein with the Bat. ^_~

Jimmy added, “Jason's first ever science project this year is going to be a mock-up of a volcano. I'm gonna help him build it. Right, buddy?”
The little boy nodded vigorously as he chewed.
Awww This is a sweet little moment. Jimmy really seems to be on his way back too!
“Damn. Uh, I mean, darn,” she said, correcting herself not quite quickly enough as her eyes briefly flitted over to her small son.
Jason smiled wryly. “Mommy, you said a swear,” he giggled.
HAHAHAHAHA
“Well, after Daniels stirred up the president's nonchalant reaction to federal aid for Metropolis, she managed to weasel out of him that the government is considering sending a survey mission to New Krypton, with the intent of eventually mining it. He didn't say for what, but I think the mere idea speaks for itself.”
Clark felt a chill run down his spine in shock. “What?” he asked, wide-eyed as he struggled to keep his composure, knowing that no good could possibly come of a mission to New Krypton. The sheer amount of kryptonite alone...
What?! Nononononooooo ( ... )

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! *evil grin* Just you wait...
Interesting. Especially after Richard just had an opposite reaction to this same trait a few sentences earlier. Very subtle but very well done foundation laying for who she really belongs with.
I'm glad you picked up on that!! That was definitely *cough*onpurpose*cough*. I tend to go for dichotomies and other opposites a lot with Lois's relationships with Richard and Clark. All for a very good reason. ^_^
LOL Dang dude. Jealous already? Sheesh!
Notice the similarity to a comment in SR in their kitchen. ^_~
Heheheeh.....Maybe cuz ya love him.....just an observation
Hehe... ah, the heart. What a complex and mysterious thing. ^_~
And interesting chice of word "She didn't bother" A lot of that exchange showed a lot of Lois not bothering. I can sympathize with her wanting to be rid of Luthor, she seems to be ruled by the fear of Jason ( ... )

Physically shaking herself, she begrudgingly summoned the determination to not give into the temptation. She'd gotten this far, after all. And besides, what would he say?
Oh, please! she grumbled. I could care less about his opinion.
HAH. Yeh right. Why does she think she's quitting in the first place?
No... she knew it was more than that. It wasn't lovesick teenage angst that compelled her anymore. As much as parts of her screamed to see him again, to feel his arms around her and... No!!! There were more important things, more important people to consider. And he had no right to upset that.
She is really just being self righteous here. She is upsetting it more than Superman is at this point with the way she is behaving.
And she wanted... she wasn't sure what she wanted. Maybe to put her feelings for him to rest. Maybe she just hoped - the idea flipped her stomach in a way she didn't like at all - to find some reason to change her mind about everything. To forgive him for leaving her when she had needed him so badly, when ( ... )

I never really thought of it that way, but I can definitely see her behavior as being a bit childish. She really has had her life turned upside down, but she's going a bit overboard with the "I'm right, you're wrong" way of thinking. It's not until he tells her that the trip to Krypton left him sick that she can finally break out of that pattern a little. Might be the connection between that and what *she* did to Jason... Hmmm.... Of course, it really is part of her character to be defensive and protective of herself, but that mother tiger part of her just comes screaming to the forefront, trampling the self-righteous part of her in the process. :p
And I figure that is what will happen. She hates that she wants it, but she does. And after the way Richard is more and more NOT fitting into her life andf the way Clark does... it just makes sense. Lotta telling, explaining and forgiving is imminent on both ( ... )

Standing a safe distance from her, Clark took a deep breath, anxiety pumping adrenaline all the way to his toes. “Tell me,” he said quietly, his eyes focused intently on her as he hoped coming up here to talk to her wasn't as bad an idea as it still seemed.
How can he be THAT attractive when he barely speaks. -sigh-
“Well...” she began, trying not to rush into the subject of their son too soon. Best to start with a less dangerous topic. “I suppose you know all about Luthor's little experiment at the Vanderworth estate. I heard you were at S.T.A.R. Labs today; they probably filled you in on everything.”
Clark blinked a few times, not having expected to discuss work topics. He'd thought... But he shook it off, trying to collect himself. “Yes,” he replied after a moment. “I decoded the crystal signal for them. It's meant to be a distress call for Krypton.”
LOL That flinging flanging communication break down. I do love how you explain their total misunderstanding of each other in such fine detail LOL

Haha!! Exactly the response I was going for. It's just one of those unintentionally smoldering moments. ^_~

Glad you liked that! I was worried that the entire conversation was too heavy with that kind of detail, though I felt it was needed to show that they just aren't on the same page yet; there is more work to be done.
Oooooh snap. She just pretty much forgave him for leaving. Oooooh
Moment of clarity on her part! Hmmm.. Wonder if that could be part of the reason she's been so defensive? ^_~ Although, I may have played that card a little early in the conversation... Oh, well! Needed to be said eventually, and as a prelude to her talking about Jason's early infancy.
Oooh. Ouch. Let the angst and forgiveness commence! If she had said something. If he had said goodbye. Oy vey such drama.Couldn't be easy, now could it? :p In the ( ... )

Jason smiled wryly. “Mommy, you said a swear,” he giggled.
“Sorry,” she apologized, her eyes fixed on the papers from the lab.
*grins* For some reason the Lois-in-my-mind has a terrible mouth on her, so it makes me laugh to imagine her struggling to behave herself around the kid.
Looking up into his blue eyes - no, they were sapphire, she decided, with the way the city lights seem to reflect in them against the dim light of the rooftop
Mmmmm...I'm a sucker for anyone getting lost in Clark's eyes while struggling to describe them correctly.
Mining New Krypton is a plausible and terrifying idea! I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out...

And Clark's eyes... ^_^ Lois was a goner at that point.
There's lots more with the mining plot, that will tie in closely with all of my other plots. ^_~ Hehehehe.... I hope you like it! (assuming I can get some more posted soon... darn RL O_o)
